Low Carbon Economy Plans

Low carbon economy plan is a strategic document, which specifies strategic objectives and detailed plans for reaching the low carbon economy on a local level.

Implementation of plans for the low carbon economy is connected with acceptance of the climate and energy package of the EU, which main objectives (until 2020) are:

• 20% increase in energy efficiency,
• 20% increase in share of renewable energy sources in the energy mix,
• 20% decrease in GHG emissions.

The plan for the low carbon economy is a required document concerning submissions of applications by municipalities for EU grants in the perspective for 2014-2020.
